The following are upcoming opportunities of service, worship, and fellowship.

 

Fall Sunday Evening Programs for All Ages

There will be oppportunities for all ages to grow in faith and in their relationship with our Lord. Beginning on Sunday evening, September 7, going through Sunday, November 23, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm the following programs will be offered:

The Olympian Club (preschoolers through 5th grade) will be led in a time of games, fun, and Bible teaching by Chris Walker, Jonathan Shields, and Lisa Overly.

Students - 6th through 12th grades - will be meeting with our Student Pastor, Mark White, in the Youth Room for a time of games, fellowship, and Bible teaching.

Our college students will be meeting at Mark White's at 8:00 pm for Bible Study.

Our adults will have two tracks - one for men and one for women. Pastor Jonathan Harrison and our Worship/Discipleship Pastor Shaun Greeson will lead the men in a study on integrity, marriage, communication, fatherhood, and discovering your spiritual gifts. Greta Greeson will be teaching the women - using Kay Arthur's precept Bible study - discussing issues like the role of women, communication in marriage, defining love, children, and spiritual gifts. (Click here to download the planned outline.)

This adult study will conclude with a couples retreat planned for January 2-4, 2009 at Fort Caswell, NC, tentatively planned to be led by Marty and Debe Tobin from Pleasant Garden Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Call the church office at 336.584.8040 if you'd like more information.

 

Truth for Living - Parables of Jesus Sermon Series

Pastor Jonathan Harrison will be preaching a sermon series on Sunday mornings titled "Truth for Living - Parables of Jesus" beginning October 12 going through November 23. The schedule is as follows:

October 12 - Parable of the Wise Builder - Matthew 7:24-29

October 19 - Parable of the Sower - Matthew 13:1-9

October 26 - Parable of Wheat & Tares - Matthew 13:24-30

November 2 - Parable of Salt & Light - Matthew 5:14-16

November 9 - Parable of the Rich Fool - Luke 11:13-21

November 16 - Parable of the Persistent Widow - Luke 18:1-8

November 23 - Parable of the Wise Virgins - Matthew 25:1-13 (Communion is also tentatively scheduled on this date as well.)
